Jane Goodall : My Heroine

Jane Goodall is possibly the most amazing woman who loves those that cannot speak out for themselves. As a nurse and animal lover I believe in that idea deeply. Jane also believes in taking care of our environment. She says "Here we are, the most clever species ever to have lived. So how is it we can destroy the only planet we have?" Some people may admire Marilyn Monroe for her beauty and wit. I admire Jane for her love of animals and the beautiful world we live in, for the dedication of studying and protecting something so dear to her. Her life makes you wonder if there is more than  money, a fancy job, the big house, the nice cars, the planned out future. Perhaps there is something more for you, for me. Perhaps we can bring change and goodness to this world that needs help and hope all over.

Charley

Charley. Where to start? We adopted this little monster in December. He has quite the attitude but we love him anyway. He loves to show you affection around 4:00 am. He loves to climb up your leg when you are going up the stairs, especially if you are wearing shorts. He likes to kick Nora out of her dog bed. He is a mommy's boy, unlike Nora. Most of all, he keeps our life interesting.

Nora, an angel sent from heaven. No person or animal could be as loving or loyal as our gentle chocolate lab. She lives to make us happy. She is my companion. But nothing makes her happier than to hear Shea's car pull up. Without the joy of her in our home, life would be dull, an emptiness I can't even explain. I love her dearly, but I can't even begin to understand the love she has for me.

Our First Summer

I was looking at some old pictures today and found these taken during our first summer together. He had moved up home for the summer and I drove up a few times to visit (we were good friends from school). He was so calm, happy, funny, loving, playful, and honest. That summer we lived 500 miles apart and somehow fell in love. People always say they married their best friend, but I really did.
